Groomer in Training

The Kimberley Nordic Club (KNC) is seeking a part time groomer in training
to complement our snowcat grooming team.

The KNC is a place where everyone is encouraged to embrace Nordic skiing as part of an active outdoor lifestyle, with quality trails, facilities, and opportunities for learning, through community cooperation, and a commitment to sustainability. The KNC promotes the enjoyment of Nordic skiing as part of an active outdoor lifestyle while pursuing excellence in facilities, programming and experiences, focusing on responsible and sustainable management and quality relationships with members, visitors and community partners.

Duties/Responsibilities
● Operate grooming equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
● Groom, maintain, and rebuild Nordic trails
● Provide condition updates to the Lead Groomer
● Track and upload grooming reports to the website
● Work cooperatively as a member of the grooming team to ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times
● Complete daily log sheets
● Refuel and perform routine inspections on machines

Skills/Requirements
● Mechanical aptitude
● Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to work as a team and collaborate with other groomers
● Flexible availability, including evening and early mornings
● Self motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
● Previous grooming or heavy equipment operation experience
● Ability to sit for up to 4 hours at a time
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

This position will shadow and work alongside the Lead Groomer for the duration of the 2024-25 season. Following successful training, the Groomer in Training will be promoted to the position of Groomer during the 2025-26 season.

Compensation
● Groomer in Training: $21.00 per hour
● Groomer: $33.00 per hour
